Abstract: Abstract: The objective of this research was to evaluate the relationship between driving styles and mental health in motorized drivers in the southern sector of the city of Manta during the year 2025. It was developed under a quantitative approach, with a non-experimental, descriptive and cross-sectional design. The sample was made up of 31 drivers, to whom standardized instruments were applied: the Multidimensional Driving Style Inventory (MDSI) to evaluate driving styles, the Goldberg General Health Questionnaire (GHQ-28) to assess mental health and the Alcohol Use Disorders Identification Test (AUDIT) to identify alcohol consumption patterns. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics using SPSS software, using frequencies, percentages and measures of central tendency. The results showed a predominance of adaptive driving styles, with the cautious style mainly standing out, although reckless behaviors were also identified in a smaller proportion. Regarding mental health, moderate levels of impairment were observed, mainly related to anxiety, insomnia and somatic symptoms. Regarding alcohol consumption, the majority of participants presented low risk levels, with a limited presence of problematic consumption. It is concluded that, although functional and adaptive driving predominates, there are psychological factors that could influence the appearance of risky behavior behind the wheel, which highlights the importance of implementing comprehensive strategies aimed at promoting mental health and road safety.
