| Abstract: | Abstract: This research analyzes the reasoning provided in judgments issued by first-instance judges in Ecuador, focusing on judicial case No. 16201-2017-00635 a legal challenge regarding the acknowledgment of paternity, processed within the Judicial Unit for Family, Women, Children, and Adolescents in the Pastaza canton. The primary objective was to determine whether the judgment meets the constitutional standards for sufficient and proper reasoning, as established by the Constitution of the Republic and the jurisprudence of the Constitutional Court of Ecuador. The study employed a qualitative approach with a descriptive scope, utilizing a legal-documentary methodology. Data collection techniques included document analysis and content analysis, supported by an evaluation matrix based on constitutional parameters for judicial reasoning. The sample consisted of the specific judgment under study. The results indicate that the judicial decision satisfies the requirements for reasoning by presenting sufficient factual, evidentiary, and legal grounds to justify the outcome. It is concluded that the judgment upholds due process, legal certainty, and the right to identity of the minor involved. |
