| Abstract: | The Ecuadorian writer Edna Iturralde De Howitt, in her book "Verde fue mi selva," relates the beautiful Ecuadorian jungle’s landscapes, the dreams and fantasies of the children who live there, the simplicity of ancient cultures, their customs and history. This research titled “Edna Iturralde y el legado étnico e histórico en su obra Verde fue mi selva” has as general objective, identify Edna Iturralde recurring themes is in her work "Verde fue mi selva", using the methods: qualitative and descriptive to determine which the constant theme in her work is. It describes briefly her life, works and awards received by the author. In the Narratological analysis in the plot, characters, sceneries and ethnic, historical and cultural values of the work are evident. The results of this research demonstrate the importance of the book "Verde fue mi selva" as a reflect of the ethnic and historical identity of the peoples who live in the Ecuadorian Amazon and Edna Iturralde’s invaluable contribution to the literature of our nation. |
| Description: | La escritora ecuatoriana Edna Iturralde De Howitt, en su libro “Verde fue mi selva”, relata los bellos paisajes de la selva ecuatoriana, los sueños y fantasías de los niños que en ella habitan, la sencillez de las culturas milenarias, sus costumbres e historia. Esta investigación cuyo título es Edna Iturralde y el legado étnico e histórico en su obra “Verde fue mi selva”, tiene como objetivo general, identificar los temas recurrentes que trata Edna Iturralde en su obra “Verde fue mi selva”, utilizando los métodos: cualitativo y descriptivo para determinar la temática constante en su obra. Se describe brevemente la vida, obras y reconocimientos obtenidos por parte de la autora. En el análisis narratológico se evidencian la trama, los personajes, los escenarios y los valores étnicos, históricos y culturales de la obra. Los resultados de este estudio, demuestran el grado de importancia que tiene la obra “Verde fue mi selva” como reflejo de la identidad étnica e histórica de los pueblos que habitan en la Amazonía ecuatoriana y el aporte invaluable de Edna Iturralde a la literatura de nuestro país |
