Determinantes de la migración internacional en Ecuador.

Abstract

In the present work it was made a study of the main theories and researches of migration, subsequently the main statistics and the determinants of international migration in Ecuador were analyzed, being the purpose of this work the analyses of how different macroeconomic variables affect the Ecuadorian emigration stock. Two econometric models were applied using information from the Census 2001 and 2010. The main findings of this work were than GDP per capita, population, common language, historical colonial relationship, on the destination affect positively the Ecuadorian emigration stocks. While physical distance shown negative effect on the emigration stock.
