Evaluación de Efectividad de Manejo del Área de Conservación y Uso Sustentable Mashpi -Guaycuyacu y Saguangal, ubicada al noroccidente de la provincia de Pichincha, dentro de los límites del Distrito Metropolitano de Quito, en la parroquia de Pacto

Abstract

Evaluating management effectiveness Area of ​​Conservation and Sustainable Use Mashpi-Guaycuyacu and Sahuangal was performed in order to know the current driving situation and if the objectives for which it was created are being met. The evaluation was conducted based on the reference frame using the methodology Hockings Rapid Assessment and Prioritization (RAPPAM) of the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF), through a questionnaire that was applied on May 4, 2015. The result of the evaluation of management effectiveness Area of ​​Conservation and Sustainable Use Mashpi-Guaycuyacu and Sahuangal received a score of 53% placing it at the level of management "Satisfactory". Planning is the area that had the highest (72%) rating, while the Context field had the lowest score (40%). The indicators that have low values ​​reflect the drawbacks of the ACUS to address activities that degrade the environment as are the little sustainable farming practices, deforestation and selective logging, the impact of civil works such as hydroelectric Mandariacu
