This research work is titled ―A Descriptive Analysis of Anglicisms in Ecuadorian Magazines.‖ The present study will examine the linguistic phenomenon of anglicisms in Ecuadorian magazines, and it was developed in the city of Cuenca, Ecuador. Some Ecuadorian magazines were collected in order to perform the following analyses: syntactic, semantic, and morphological analyses of anglicisms. Also, it helped find out if there are Spanish equivalents for the anglicisms about to examine, if these foreign words have replaced Spanish terms, and whether or not the anglicisms have been accepted by the R.A.E., and to discuss on the frequency of the most used anglicisms found in the magazines being used for this study. The data was selected from all sections, such as news section, social pages, and reports of the magazines making up the variables in this research. These magazines include cultural magazines, scholarly and general interest magazines. In addition, the statistical method was used for data tabulation, and the analysis of results was carried out through qualitative and quantitative methods. These results of this study reveal a great use of anglicisms in Ecuadorian magazines. Therefore, it is evident that there is a significant influence of the English language over the written language that Ecuadorian magazines used in their articles.es_ES
