Description: The methods used were the Analytic, Descriptive and Bibliographic Method. Through the use of descriptive, linguistic and social analysis of written language in Ecuadorian newspapers where we focused on lexical terms regarded as anglicisms, and the way they are used in newspapers. According to the results obtained, the newspaper with the most frequency and highest percentage in the use of anglicisms is the national newspaper “El Comercio,” and the sections most employed to this aim are ads and social pages, this is because the writers emphasize cohesiveness within a group which creates fashion trends in society whose ads at large share a rather brief popularity, show that they are more in vogue, and sometimes have a strong visual impact with the purpose of attracting the attention of the readers.
