Diseño de un sistema de conservación para el Cantón Santo Domingo

Abstract

The Present Research contribute to the conservation of biodiversity goods and environmental services of Canton Santo Domingo, incorporating the existing protected Areas and identifying new protection areas. An inventory of protected areas , identification of conserved ecosystems and most representative types of coverage remanence identification , identification of surface areas on which the Parochial have an interest to preserve was conducted this through interviews presidents, subsequently a proposed management model conservation system was developed , finally FODA analysis was performed.. There are 10 protected areas within the county; Ecological Reserve Illinizas belonging to the Natural Heritage Areas state - PANE 9 Forest Guards, and the areas belonging to the Project Socio Bosque (58115 hectares). Through the analysis of representation could be identified that 9.56 % of the cantonal territory is under protection regime, the wet forest Pre - Montano, is the ecosystem at greater length in the canton occupies 25.47 % of the territory, population density canton is 104 inhabitants per square kilometer.
