dc.description	A nivel mundial, el manejo de los residuos sólidos urbanos (RSU) ha significado un problema debido a los altos volúmenes generados por los ciudadanos; cuando el manejo no es el correcto, afecta la salud de los ciudadanos y el ambiente. El objetivo de esta investigación fue diseñar un Plan de Gestión Integral de residuos sólidos en la parroquia San Sebastián del Coca. La investigación fue de tipo aplicada, descriptiva y de campo, se encuestó a una muestra representativa de la población, se aplicaron entrevistas, visitas de observación y se realizó un monitoreo para caracterizar los RS en octubre de 2017. La tasa de generación per cápita fue de 0.61 kg/habitante-día, generan 78,09% de desechos orgánicos y 22% de inorgánicos y la densidad promedio de RS fue de 358,06 kg/m3. Esta información nos permitió elaborar un conjunto de programas, (programa de educación ambiental, segregación in situ, aprovechamiento de residuos sólidos orgánicos e inorgánicos y el programa estratégico para la implementación de un sistema de gestión de residuos sólidos) que permitirán a la población mejorar sus condiciones de vida y disminuir problemas de salud.	es_ES
dc.description.abstract	At a global level, the management of urban solid waste (MSW) has been a problem due to the high volumes generated by citizens; when management is not correct, it affects the health of citizens and the environment. The objective of this research was to design a Comprehensive Solid Waste Management Plan in the San Sebastián del Coca parish. The research was of applied, descriptive and field type, a representative sample of the population was surveyed, interviews were applied, observation visits and monitoring was carried out to characterize the SW in October 2017. The generation rate per capita was of O.61 kg/inhabitant-day, they generate 78.09% of organic waste and 22% of inorganic waste and the average density of RS was 358.06 kg/m3. This information allowed us to elaborate a set of programs, (environmental education program, segregation in situ, use of solid organic and inorganic waste and the strategic program for the implementation of a solid waste management system) that will allow the population to improve their living conditions and decrease health problems.	es_ES
