Description: Abstract:The initial conditions assumed in the design of pressure irrigation networks during the network s operation are not always met, due to emergent situations that produce a significant decline of pressure or demand in the knots. It is assumed that this is due to poor criteria in the assignation of demand where pressure is not considered when simulating the behavior of networks. Currently this type of network is modeled by considering the pressure in the known consumption node, through the use of the K emitter´s equation. However, there´s a possibility to evaluate the demand according to other criteria, such as the Wagner curve criterion. In the present research work different criteria for the allocation of demand dependent on pressure (PDA) during the simulation will be evaluated. Those criteria were implemented in the community of irrigators "San Rafael" of Chimborazo province. The results show that in emerging conditions it was possible to obtain a saving of 20 % of the flow of the network under the Wagner criterion in the PDA assignment during the simulation.
