Description: Abstract:Flexible pavement thickness can be design by several methods. One of them is the AASHTO 1998 method, which uses abacus, equations, and tables for its development. To facilitate the process there are several computer software, however, this software does not clearly show each of the procedures used. In this context, the objective of this work was to develop a software for the design of flexible pavements by the AASHTO 1998 method, which presents the details of the procedures performed. For which, equations were estimated that allow developing the graphics procedures of the method. The program to develop by using the HTML and JavaScript language, and will be implemented in the virtual pavement laboratory. This tool allows calculating the flexible pavement thickness, detailing the calculation of the number of equivalent axes, drainage coefficients, structural coefficients, resilience modules and nomogram layout. This software seeks to facilitate and optimize the learning of both students and engineering professionals.
