Análisis de los Usos de la Tecnología en los Estudiantes de la Universidad Técnica Particular de Loja.

Abstract

In the present degree work, I did a study where some characteristics of the digital divide are detailed; specifically I analyzed the impact of the variable which is referred to the level of the students' economic incomes linked to the use of internet in academic and entertainment activities, at the same time, with the results gotten I analyzed the relationship between the variable: "use of Internet " and the student's academic performance. To reach the objectives proposed I used data mining techniques using two tools: the first SPSS software, a cluster analysis was performed to obtain user profiles; these profiles were tested with discriminant analysis and finally a logistic regression analysis was applied to test the hypotheses. On the other hand, I used the Weka tool to apply feature selection algorithms to get the most relevant variables, k-means clustering to classify the students and finally to interpret the results.
