Análisis del uso de Internet en los Estudiantes de la Universidad Politécnica Salesiana sede Guayaquil

Abstract:Research: Analysis of Internet use among students of the Polytechnic University Salesian Headquarters Guayaquil, demonstrating the impact of their household income on Internet use in academic activities and entertainment. In addition the incidence of academic performance is established by using the internet as a source of consultation and distraction. Using the technique of Data Mining and SPSS tool is able to demonstrate the points made in the objectives. To collect the information, the survey used in the Catalonia Internet Project and the Digital Literacy in Higher Education, adapted to our reality adapted. 38.8% female research applies the Salesian University in Guayaquil based on a sample of 361 students, and 61.2% men. According to the economic level of dollar income: 18.6% they have up to 350 and higher with 81.4%. We conclude that students with higher incomes tend to use the Internet in academic activities, besides not affect the use of internet for entertainment. Finally academic performance, not dependent on the use of internet.
