Abstract: Generally, before roundels and within them, the operation speed is greater than the design speed. The operating speed is calculated with equations involving variables such as: the characteristics of the driver, vehicles, streets and environment. However, in our country it is not known of such equations. In that scenario, this thesis he had as objective to develop models of speed on urbans streets before reaching roundels, collecting the speed of 7 roundels located in the urban area of the city of Loja. A measuring circuit is selected, which was traveled by 45 drivers with the team Garmin Dash Cam 20. It perfomed the processing of these data, behavior patterns were analyzed and was performed the calibration and validation of the models. They were obtained models of speed, acceleration and deceleration , which will serve to estimate the speed of operation on urbans streets during the design of streets.
