dc.description | This research purpose is to analyze the factors that influence the English language teaching-learning process in Ecuadorian private high schools. It was developed in 15 private high schools in Ecuador, 12 in Riobamba, 2 in Quito, and 1 in Guayaquil. The quantitative method, which is based on the analysis of statistical data, and the observation technique were used in this research. The sample was 15 students ranging 13 to 17 years old and 15 teachers. For observing teachers and students, an observation format was applied; also, students’ and teachers’ questionnaires and surveys were used for data collection. The analysis of results demonstrate that small size and homogenous classrooms have more benefits than large size and heterogeneous ones, for example, curriculum can be adjusted according to students’ needs, students feel more motivated to pay attention and become engaged, and teachers can have more time for professional assessment and feedback | es_ES |
