| Abstract: | The aim of this study was to assess the current situation of the management of the grant mangrove "New Future" located in the canton Naranjal, with an area of 2,236 hectares and the degree of compliance with its objectives for which the evaluation was conducted Management effectiveness (EEM) based on the reference framework and methodology Hockings Assessment and Prioritization Rapid Protected Area Management (RAPPAM) of the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF). EEM in the mangrove concession "New Future" the area that received the highest score is products with 88.9% and the lowest score is the input field with 61.1% and the indicator of this area lower score is the control and monitoring of pollution sources with an average of 33%, the overall average of the five areas applied 70.5%. Overall rating of management of mangrove concession "New Future" is located in the satisfactory category. |
| Description: | El objetivo de este estudio fue conocer la situación actual de la gestión de la concesión de manglar “Nuevo Porvenir” localizada en el cantón Naranjal, con una extensión de 2.236 hectáreas y el grado del cumplimiento de sus objetivos para lo cual se realizó la Evaluación de Efectividad de Manejo (EEM) tomando como base el marco referencial de Hockings y la metodología de Evaluación y Priorización Rápida del Manejo de Áreas Protegidas (RAPPAM) del Fondo Mundial para la Naturaleza (WWF). En la EEM de la concesión de manglar “Nuevo Porvenir” el ámbito que obtuvo la puntuación más alta es productos con el 88,9% y la puntuación más baja es el ámbito de insumos con el 61,1% y el indicador de este ámbito de menor puntuación obtenida es del control y monitoreo de fuentes de contaminación con un promedio del 33%, siendo el promedio general de los cinco ámbitos aplicados de 70,5%. En términos generales la calificación del manejo de la concesión de manglar “Nuevo Porvenir” se ubica en la categoría satisfactorio. |
