Análisis del uso de la tecnología en los estudiantes de la Universidad del Azuay

Abstract

Abstract: The performed research work, focuses on applying of the informational theories for the analysis of the Internet uses, of the students of the Universidad del Azuay, where there was obtained a set of data and valid information to identify the use of technology in the Ecuadorian universities. The survey results demonstrate that the income of the family group of students is a medium socioeconomic level in the most of the inquired people; the knowledge in the use of the Internet is at a high level, although this is not often used to learn, but as a way of entertainment. The polled students have been classified, according to their Internet use habits in two groups related to the learning: entertainment and academic performance, which were defined as: high and low use of the Internet for learning and entertainment; and, high and low academic performance. By means of binary logistic regression, the hypothesis are verified, determining that the economic income does not affect in the use of the Internet to learn and/or to amuse themselves; and that academic performance is not altered by these uses.
