Adquisición de competencias clínicas, a través de simulación, del manejo inicial del trauma en estudiantes de 10mo ciclo de Medicina de la UTPL, durante el periodo Abril – Agosto 2015

Abstract

The current study was of a descriptive-prospective type, quantitative and of a transversal focus, whose purpose was to determine the amount of 10th year medical students, divided into two groups, present and virtual, that got approved through objective structured clinical evaluation (OSCE) workshop initial trauma management prior delivery of teaching materials.

The objective was to contribute to the formation, both theoretical an practical to the medical students from Technical University in Loja, through the elaboration, implementation, and execution of the workshop for initial trauma, using the method of simulation with the finality of making sure that the participant is in the capacity of acquiring the necessary distress and can apply it in the future.

The gathered results were greater in the group that was present, with an approved percentage of 97.30% and less for the virtual group with an approved percentage of 69.73%

This way, it was demonstrated the education based on simulation is only good when acquiring clinical competitions and there is an important predominance in the present group.
