Inventario de las tradiciones, costumbres ancestrales y tradición oral del Cantón Mejía, Provincia de Pichincha

Abstract

Abstract: The present work entitled: "Inventory of traditions, ancient customs and oral tradition of Canton Mejia, led to development of cultural touristic activity of the area," begins with the situational diagnostic of Cantón Mejía located in the province of Pichincha belonging to Republic of Ecuador, later to make the inventory of intangible heritage of the canton. The research reinforced the relevant fieldwork consisting in interviews with officials of the Commission of Culture and Tourism of the Municipality of Mejia and people familiar with the cultural ancestry and oral tradition, has allowed the author felt closely the cultural identity of its population. Finally we studied and determined the appropriate strategy for a brochure that collects descriptively the legends and traditions of Mejia. The brochure graphically rescue and safeguarding intangible heritage of Canton, encouraging cultural touristic development, fulfilling one of the objectives of present work.
