Estudio del estado actual de las fuentes abastecedoras de agua de consumo humano de las principales poblaciones del cantón Suscal – provincia del Cañar

Abstract

The present study aims to know the current state of the water supply sources of the main towns of the Canton Suscal. To this end, an environmental diagnosis of the study area was carried out, collecting basic information, to be analyzed and systematized. The analysis of the water supply and demand, the quality and quantity of water for consumption in relation to the use of the soil and the productive systems was carried out, and the water quality was determined through physical-chemical and microbiological analyzes.

Among the results it was determined that there are problems in water quality, which causes the increase of diseases such as intestinal parasitism, allergic dermatitis and diarrhea. It was also found that there are supply problems both in summer and winter, due to the water shortage in the Pogllos and Wayrapalte sources, lost in the conduction and inadequate distribution.

Finally, a technical report was prepared, in which programs, projects and action strategies were designed to provide useful information to guide future work and decision-making.
