Abstract

Abstract: This work was aimed to "Using the adventure novel as a means to promote reading," published works from the classical and modern age were cited. the current state of contemporary youth and adventure travel narrative enunciated; as well as its value in reading training high school students from ninth to third high school. works throughout history were affected by readers of all ages were selected; these possessed the fundamental elements of the novel of adventure, such as the presence of the hero, travel, adventure; and, by their nature, these novels responded to interests and needs of young and adult readers of the time. The focus of the research was quantitative and qualitative instruments allowed to obtain data from the perspective of the organizers of the act of reading: students, teachers, authorities of the institution and Ecuadorian writers LIJ; post project promoting reading "adventures to dream" was raised as a proposal for intervention.
