Abstract

n the following investigation the incidence of compaction temperature in the asphalt hot mixes is analyzed, which will give us an idea of how this parameter influences the strength and durability of the mixture. For the development of the present research was used material from the "Vilcabamba and Catamayo" sectors of the city of Loja, as well as AP5 type asphalt from the Esmeraldas refinery, provided by the Municipality of Loja. The concept of useful life of road works and the consequent need to estimate the durability of the materials, forces to put true emphasis on quality control, one of the parameters involved is the temperature that affects the process of asphalting roads .
