Proyecto Arquitectónico de un Centro Intercultural Binacional para el cantón Macara

Abstract

Abstract: The intercultural project is located, to the south of Ecuador in the province of Loja Cantón Macara. In order to foster culture, ancestral traditions and typical gastronomy, the creation of an Intercultural Center in Macara is promoted as a border canton and seeing the scarcity of a physical space where cultural activities are carried out linking the unity and brotherhood of the Two countries (Ecuador and Perú). The intercultural centers emerge to house the areas of knowledge, such as science, technology, plastic arts, artistic and cultural activities. They should be conceptualized as educational and tourist centers, which contribute to increase the educational level of the population by offering new sources of knowledge in a self-taught way to improve their physical, intellectual, moral and labor. The Intercultural Center also attracts people from all sociocultural levels, its function is to disseminate the artistic and technological creations of the city and to exchange them with those of other regions and even with countries. For this reason, they have become a prominent space in each society.
