Plan estratégico de desarrollo turístico sostenible para el cantón Arenillas, provincia de El Oro

Abstract

Abstract: The project "Strategic plan for sustainable tourism development for the Canton of Arenillas" aims to be a guiding instrument for the activation of the tourist activity of the canton and to place Arenillas as a tourist destination with high social responsibility and effective economic, cultural and environmental management. In order to carry out the plan, a situational diagnosis of the canton was started, detailing information related to the physical-spatial, socio-cultural, ecological-territorial, economic-productive and political-administrative areas, allowing to create an overview of the current reality of the canton. Subsequently, the tourist potential of the canton was determined. This consists of the analysis of the supply and demand and identification of the existing tourist problem in Arenillas. Finally, with the gathered information and starting from the SWOT analysis, strategic guidelines, programs and projects were developed. These will allow the promotion of tourism with the integral use of tourism resources, and thus contribute to the creation of new sources of economic income that improve the quality of life of the population in harmony with nature and enhance their cultural heritage.
