Abstract

The present study, proposed the research: "Relationship between problematic use of ICT, substance use and its impact on mental health in secondary school students in zone 6; District: 01D01, Circuit: C05_06_11_12; District: 03D02, Circuit: C01_b; District: 01D01, Circuit: C08_09_10; District: 01D02, Circuit: C01_02_03, during the year 2016, whose objective was to analyze the distribution of substance use, use of ICT and mental health indicators. An exploratory, descriptive and cross-sectional, making use of the battery with the following instruments: socio-demographic, use of ICT, CERM, CERI, IGD-20, WHO poll for substance use, Indicators of mental health and social support. The same one that was applied in 159 students of first and second of High school After applying the instruments and analyzing the data, it was concluded that they accessed the computer (91.67%) used the mobile phone and internet between the age of 10 and 14, using it for school tasks (73.83%). The investigators found that they had not consumed alcohol, tobacco or other psychoactive substances (90%) nor presented negative behaviours (43%).
