Abstract

Abstract: This document develops the proposal for the realization of the technical-economic evaluation of the production and marketing of cider in the city of Quito, supported by the existence of an available market for the product mentioned, the availability of the raw material and accessibility to the required technology. Based on statistical and bibliographic data regarding the actual consumption of moderate alcoholic beverages in the city of Quito; and the estimate of demand, the total capacity of the plant was determined in 1000 m³ of cider per year. The idea of the present project has been to satisfy a need of consumption present in the habitants of the city of Quito who consume alcoholic beverages, particularly, moderate drinks. In addition, it is intended that the ideal age corresponds to potential clients between 18 and 50 years of age who have the economic and social faculties for this type of habits. The execution of the project reached until the technical-economic evaluation of the production and the commercialization of the cider, for which it took a basic design of the plant, the estimate of the initial investment, the fixed and variables costs, the state of losses and profits. From the technical-economic analysis it is concluded that there is the technology and equipment to install a cider production plant of 1000 m³ capacity per year and that the initial investment is USD 782,246.30, with its own resources equivalent to $ 50,000, the NPV results of USD 912,773.00 and from the cash flow it get a IRR of 45.23% which shows that the business is more profitable than has the money in the bank.
