Análisis hidrológico y calidad de agua por contenido de sólidos, caso de estudio: río Calera y Amarillo-cuenca Puyango

Abstract

The present research aims to understand the hydrological behavior of the Puyango River and its response to stimuli in different return periods, and relate how can influence the flow variations in pollution by the presence of the mining and extraction of stone in the area of the rivers Calera and Amarillo. For this, it is calculated or estimated the probability of occurrence of maximum events for different return periods; analyzed 20 hydrometric stations located in the basins of Catamayo, Jubones, Puyango and Santiago, the non-existence of a hydrometric information in the area of study was developed regional hydrological techniques, focused on determining the values of flows in the point of interest is the convergence of the rivers Calera and Amarillo. On the other hand, the water quality analysis for solids content, is determined on the basis of the method of volumetric analysis, applied to samples taken in the channels in mention, with significant variations, determining values of concentrations of SS in the channels in times of low water periods, and low in winter season.
