Description: There are several reasons why people read. For example, they read to be informed; people also read to perform a specific task, in following directions, for instance. Also, reading is used as a literary experience, or simply as a means of entertainment. Specifically speaking, reading is one of the skills applied in an EFL classroom. The type of reading used in such classrooms is commonly determined by the texts students are supposed to have. Sometimes, teachers prepare their own material which can consist in tales, short stories, or authentic material such as magazine or newspaper articles.
