Beschreibung: The topic of the present study is ¨A descriptive analysis of anglicisms in Ecuadorian Magazines¨. The general objective is to research on the linguistic phenomenon of anglicisms used in Ecuadorian magazines. This research was performed in Quito-Ecuador. The sample for this study were six magazines taken from the years 2009 and 2010, two of them belong to the first variable that is cultural magazines, the other two magazines belong to the second variable which is scholarly magazines and finally, the last two belong to the third variable general interest magazines. The methods that were used for the study were the qualitative method and the quantitative method. According to this study, the variable that had a higher frequency of anglicisms was general interest magazines, with 45.7%, because these magazines include sections, articles, and topics that cover contents that reach a larger population. In conclusion, on one hand, anglicisms enrich the Spanish language because they allow a better communication worldwide. On the other hand, they deteriorate grammar because the Spanish lexicon starts adapting to new rules in order to include the anglicisms.
