Evaluación de la superficie del pavimento de la vía Loja Saraguro, tramo abscisas 27+000 37+000

Abstract

Abstract: Roads have a considerable influence on the economy of a region, due to the different exchanges that take place through them, both cultural and in terms of goods and services, so it is important to have a good pavement. Consequently, the objective is to evaluate the condition of the rigid pavement of the Loja Saraguro Road, section 27+000 37+000, applying the Pavement Condition Index (PCI) and the International Roughness Index (IRI). Of the 10 kilometres, 37 units were evaluated superficially, identifying the class, severity and density of the failures. Also,an average evaluation was obtained with the RoughometerIII. In addition, the TPDA was established in order to relate it to the PCI obtained. The study section presented 81.82 pointsof PCI, which is equivalent to a very good condition, while the IRI showed a value of 3.83 m/km, which translates as a regularlevel of comfort, and for the TPDAthe value was 3847 mixed vehicles/day. Finally, an intervention strategy was proposed for the most predominant faults.
