Opciones de financiamiento para quienes desarrollan su actividad económica en el ámbito musical en la ciudad de Quito

Abstract

Abstract: The objective of this work was to identify the financing options that are available for those who develop their economic activity in the musical field in the city of Quito. Specifically; musicians and music producers, considering that, ultimately, with these two characters in the industry, a totally marketable material could be generated.In order to fulfill the indicated objective, interviews were conducted with those who make up the study group, and with the information collected, the main characteristicsthat the profiles of the interviewed potential creditors have in common were identified. With this, it was defined what sources of financing the interviewees can access considering their characteristics.The main finding of this work is that musicians and producers, finding themselves in a scenario where copyright and profits in general are diminished and in a precarious and totally informal state, do not find sufficient incentives to generate the documents that support their income, and this is the main barrier that prevents them from accessing financing in the traditional system.This study considered only musicians and producers, excluding record companies and live sound providers, who, due to the capital and the type of activity they carry out, can access financing from a favorable position. The study is carried out in the city of Quito Ecuador.
