Abstract: | Abstract: In the following case, an adolescent patient suffering from a chronic disease known as juvenile idiopathic arthritis, which symptoms aroused in her childhood, was diagnosed when she was eleven years old. After the evaluation process, it was determined thatthe patient presented Z61.3 Such event leads to the loss of self-esteem in childhood as a psychological diagnosis, based on the ICD-10 criteria. Currently, the adolescent does not report symptoms of any psychological disorder, and she states that she feels comfortable in the different areas of her life: academic, social, personal, and family. A psychological intervention plan is proposed that includes techniques with a cognitive-behavioral approach, framed in psychoeducation, self-esteem reinforcement, self-concept, self-care, assertiveness and problem-solving training. As a result, all the aforementioned areas were improved, which generates an increase in her quality of life and emotional well-being. |
Description: | Resumen: En el presente caso se aborda a una paciente adolescente que sufre la enfermedad crónica conocida como artritis idiopática juvenil, cuyos síntomas surgieron en la niñez, siendo diagnosticada a los once años. Posterior al proceso de evaluación se determina que la paciente presenta como diagnóstico psicológico el Z61.3 Hechos conducentes a la pérdida de la autoestima en la niñez, basado en los criterios de la CIE-10. Actualmente la adolescente no refiere síntomas de trastorno psicológico alguno, y manifiesta sentirse a gusto en los diferentes ámbitos de su vida: académico, social, personal y familiar. Se propone un plan de intervención psicológica que contempla técnicas con un enfoque cognitivo-conductual, enmarcado en la psicoeducación, fortalecimiento de autoestima, auto concepto, auto cuidado, asertividad y entrenamiento en resolución de problemas. Como resultados obtuvo una mejora en la autoestima ,autoconcepto y asertividad del a adolescente generando de esta manera un aumento en la calidad de vida y bienestar emocional. |
