Cumandá: romanticismo y diferencias culturales

Abstract

Abstract: This essay entitled Cumandá: romanticism and cultural differences is based on a process of critical analysis on the importance and impact that this novel has for children and youth, the role and recognition of the lives of our ancestors, love impossible due to the circumstances of the outcome of this novel. Cumandá fulfills novel expectations that at the beginning of its reading is revealed in the reader, a feeling of not stopping keep going till the end. The analysis is part of the process of reading the work; Thus, through the recognition of the characters, the setting and the plot, the reader will imagine the outcome of the work, being very important to capture the message that Juan León Mera gives us, an Ecuadorian narrator and poet who was characterized by the contribution to literature and the rescue of Ecuadorian culture. The plot, the description, the theme, the time and other elements of romanticism are the object of analysis in this work.
