Abstract

Abstract: The research work Principles of social constructivism of the pedagogical proposal of the Educational Unit "Curtincápac" carried out in the Curtincápac Parish, in the Portovelo canton, El Oro Province, has as general objective to explain what was and what was the contribution of constructivism to student learning as the basis of the Institutional Pedagogical Proposal. Using the content analysis method, it was possible to identify the constructivist principles immersed in this pedagogical proposal. It was found that not enough research was done on the principles of social constructivism and that only one author was mentioned in the pedagogical foundations of the institutional pedagogical proposal. In conclusion; the institution in its pedagogical proposal proposes strategies and methodologies in which it involves constructivism as a creator of learning, encourages and guides the practice of knowledge through experience and creativity, so that the student originates his own learning.
