Abstract

Abstract:An essay has been carried out on the work Las voces inefablesby Medardo ÁngelSilva, an author from the early 20th century. The same, as its name denotes, has ineffable characteristics, unspoken or undescribed, either because of its subtlety or its ambiguity. Such aspects are characteristic in general lines in the writings of the author, who highlights the voice of the cholo and of those discriminated against in his time as part of the oppressed feeling, being an Afro-descendant, who later, due to such problems and in view of desperation, take suicide as an option. This essay tries to approach, from a hermeneutical perspective, the understanding of the topics treated by Silva, contrasting them with the same discriminatory practices today, as well as other associated difficulties.Obtaining as a conclusion that his work is expressive both in romantic and symbolic terms, by referring to underlying racial problems within them. Thus, the moon, the sky and the water allude to whites and blended, while brown, darkness, black, to cholos and, properly speaking, to Afro-descendants.
