El acceso a la educación básica y de bachillerato durante la pandemia COVID 19 en la ciudad de Loja, septiembre 2020

Abstract

Abstract: The Ecuadorian educational system at the basic and high school levels has been face-to face, but in March 2020, due to the health emergency such as COVID 19, it forced a confinement and changed this model. The objective of this work is to determine access to basic and high school education during the COVID 19 pandemic in the city of Loja in September 2020. The methodology applied was based on the accountability of the Ministry of Education of Ecuador and data of the population between 2018 and 2021. In the 2018- 2019 and 2019-2020 school years, little school dropout was observed, but in the 2020-2021 year it was -2%, which is significant; In that same year there was an increase of 1% in public education and a decrease of -6% in education, which is highly significant in basic education and high school. Education began to use digital resources, considering that the city of Loja has high internet access with 51% of households with internet. With this, the authorization of public spaces with internet access is recommended.
