Salud mental en trabajadores sanitarios durante la pandemia de COVID-19,del sector rural de la provincia de Loja, durante el año 2021-2022

Abstract

Abstract: The COVID-19 pandemic generated serious repercussions on health workers, since they were frontline personnel against this disease; causing emotional instability and mental disturbances. Therefore, this research work analyzes mental health in health workers, during the COVID-19 pandemic, in the rural sector of the province of Loja, in Ecuador. The objective of the research was to determine the state of mental health of health workers, during the COVID-19 pandemic, in the rural sector of the province of Loja, during the year 2021-2022. On the other hand, the methodology was non-experimental, cross-sectional, exploratory, descriptive and quantitative; the sample consisted of 55 participants, selected by probabilistic convenience sampling. In addition, the instrument applied was online, which was comprised of different psychological instruments, such as the ad hoc sociodemographic questionnaire, MBI-HSS, DASS-21, (AAQ-II)7, UCLA-3 and the PSQ. It was concluded that health workers did not show significant alterations in their mental health, however, the negative impact of the pandemic represents a significant challenge in this population.
