Abstract

Abstract: The present essay entitled Regionalist indigenist Literature, in the geopolitical literary context of the work "The world is wide and alien" (Alegría. 1941) makes a long time i n the novel as a reflection of the Peruvian political and social reality of the 20th century, within the literary current of indigenism, centered on the problem of the Indian and resistance. The thesis analyzes the work as a social critique from the parallelism of the narrative with the community lif e of the time and the ideological nature of the author's proposal. A key fact to consolidate the identity of peoples is the transmission of cultural content, Ciro Alegría, through the use of narrative tools, appropriates historical, political issues and popular aspirations to call for reflection and action to enable the construction of a new history with a new Latin American human being with a defined identity with a history and values that justify community feeling and dignify social struggles around land ownership and the disintegration of the colonial caste system. Education and the dissemination of culture are tools of historical and civic instruction for social renewal.
