| Abstract: | Abstract: In the middle of the nineteenth century, men were the center of attention and participation in society, women were relegatedto household chores only, maintaining a submissive and passive attitude, which was typical of the time.Rosaura, the main protagonist of the novel, has been the revelation of her gender as a response to so much injustice and inequalities. Thus, this work was developed with the aim of learning more about the arduous course of women in the fields; political, social, economic and educational, that uprising and constant struggle against man and society as a whole, all this, in order to achieve gender equity and thus be able to join as active members of Ecuadorian society.Likewise, identify the presence of feminism within the novel and the time in Ecuador, recognizing the struggles of great representatives, the same ones who were in search of fair social actions for the benefit of their gender, against a government very attached to macho customs and the Catholic religion, imposing rules and norms attached to the church. For whom the first law was God and the second was man. |
| Description: | Resumen: En el Ecuador decimonónico, en pleno siglo XIX, el hombre era el centro de atención y participación en la sociedad, las mujeres eran relegadas a tareas únicamente del hogar manteniendo una actitud sumisa y de carácter pasivo, lo cual era típico de la época. Rosaura, protagonista principal de la novela, viene siendo la revelación de su género como una respuesta a tanta injusticia y desigualdades. Siendo así, que el presente trabajo se desarrollará con el objetivo de conocer más a fondo el arduo transcurso de la mujer en los ámbitos político, social, económico y educativo, aquel levantamiento y constante lucha contra el hombre y la sociedad en conjunto, todo esto, con la finalidad de lograr equidad de género y así poder incorporarse como miembros activos de la sociedad ecuatoriana. Así mismo, identificar la presencia del feminismo dentro de la novela y de la época en el Ecuador, reconociendo las luchas de grandes representantes, las mismas que fueron en busca de acciones de justicia social en beneficio de su género y de personas desprotegidas, en contra de un gobierno muy apegado a las costumbres machistas y a la religión, imponiendo reglas y normas apegadas a la iglesia, para quien la primera ley era Dios y segunda el hombre. |
