Propuesta de calles completas para la ciudad compacta sostenible. Caso de estudio casco central de Loja.

Abstract

Abstract: This research aims to propose the design of complete streets in the Santo Domingo neighborhood of the city of Loja through the assessment of existing ones and the application of the principles of new urbanism as a strategy to create more sustainable urban spaces.Loja is projected as a sustainable and environmentally friendly city, however, in the streets they have a non-optimal functionality, dedicated to the automotive space, congested, noisy and dangerous for users. How can the streets in Santo Domingo be to make Loja a more sustainable city? Themethodology consisted of evaluating the existing streets through the application of partial and global sustainability indices: pedestrian spaces, automotive space, cycle path, green, compactness, complexity and social cohesion.As a result, the existing good and bad points for each analyzed street are identified and complete street proposals are made for greater sustainability.
