| Abstract: | Abstract:The present research made it possible to evaluate the traditional knowledge on the use of medicinal plants used in the family nucleus to treat COVID-19 in the Marcabelí canton. A semi-structured interview was applied to 359 people to determine the uses, forms, modes and structures used, as well as the characteristics of the informants. Statistical and ethnobotanical analyses were applied to identify a total of 20 species belonging to 12 families, used for the treatment of colds, coughs, flus, among others, and it was also possible to know that in the family nucleus there is a high degree of consensus for the use of Eucalyptus globulus Labill (Eucalyptus), Taraxacum officinale L (Dandelion) and Cinchona officinalis L (Cascarilla); the parts most used by most of the informants were leaves and stem. Finally, it was possible to identify that the plants are obtained in the informants' markets and gardens. |
| Description: | Resumen: La presente investigación permitió evaluar el conocimiento tradicional sobre el uso de plantas medicinales empleadas en el núcleo familiar para tratar el COVID- 19 en el cantón Marcabelí. Se aplicó una entrevista semiestructurada a 359 personas, para determinar los usos, formas, modos y estructuras usadas, así como las características de los informantes. Para los resultados se aplicaron análisis estadísticos y etnobotánicos que permitieron identificar a un total de 20 especies pertenecientes a 12 familias, usadas para el tratamiento de resfríos, tos, gripes, entre otros, además se pudo conocer que en el núcleo familiar existe un alto grado de consenso por el uso del Eucalyptus globulus Labill (Eucalipto), Taraxacum officinale L (Diente de León), y Cinchona officinalis L (Cascarilla); las partes más usadas por la mayoría de los informantes fueron hojas y tallo. Finalmente se logró identificar que las plantas son obtenidas en mercados y jardines de los informantes. |
