Abstract

Abstract: Loja's cycling infrastructure has a recreational focus and is located in the historic center; however, the current vision of the city brings with it the need to improve mobility. Therefore, the objective of this research work is to present an alternative to improve the cycleway that crosses the city from north to south, focusing on sustainable mobility. A survey of information was carried out to determine the current state and a proposal to provide greater connectivity to the sectors located outside the historic center of the city, therefore, the project is summarized in the redesign of the cycleway that connects the city from north to south, with the application of specific regulations in order to modify existing sections, such as Av. 24 de Mayo and eliminating others such as Av. Bernardo Valdivieso, respecting lane widths, signage and slopes in order to encourage the use of bicycles as alternative transport, helping the environment, saving energy and reducing traffic congestion, thus achieving a healthier, safer and more sustainable city.
