El impacto de la pandemia COVID-19 en el desempeño financiero de las empresas turísticas, de transporte y comercio de la provincia de Cotopaxi - Ecuador

Abstract

Abstract: The purpose of the research was to analyze the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the financial performance of Ecuadorian companies in the tourism sectors, transport and commerce of the province of Cotopaxi, Ecuador. The study of the financial management indicators that were developed based on the methodology quasi-experimental and using the descriptive type of research, the three fundamental aspects necessary for this analysis were: the counterfactual study of the historical accounting information starting as a base year 2017 determining projections of the financial ratios in the event that the pandemic of the COVID-19., in parallel we worked with the real data obtained from financial statements corresponding to the year 2020 and finally the impact of these financial indicators in the economic development of organizations. HE determined the existence of negative ratios present both in the indices of profitability, capacity, growth and indebtedness within the companies subject to study. Concluding that the health emergency produced an economic setback for most of the companies that belong to these commercial branches.
