Kichwismos en la novela Huasipungo de Jorge Icaza Coronel

Abstract

Abstract: The present Curricular Integration Work, whose theme is: The use of Kichwismos in the novel Huasipungo in some characters from the novel Huasipungo by Jorge Icaza Colonel, has been of significant importance, for its study an analysis of the Kichwa terms that the author used in his main characters such as Andrés Chiliquinga and Cunshi, and it was possible to verify the great linguistic richness of the ancestral language kichwa; For this reason, it has managed to maintain itself through the centuries. The Spanish that I know spoken in America and specifically in Ecuador is characterized by the influence of Kichwa words or Americanisms, which have allowed a great linguistic variety, such as result the enrichment of the two languages, kichwa and spanish. For a better study the hypothesis is proposed: The use of quichuisms in the novel Huasipungo by Jorge Icaza to achieve greater authenticity in the indigenous social denunciation, as well as an element of National identity. This novel represents the courage, sacrifice, and constant work of a people who fight for the recovery of their culture, their Homeland. Presents a social complaint, the value and the resistance of a people that does not accept the imposition and violation of their rights by the denigrating acts perpetrated by the Spanish conquerors against the indigenous people of the Ecuadorian State.
