Espacios públicos en contextos históricos. Intervención urbana en el eje conector cultural Simón Bolívar y la Plaza Santo Domingo

Abstract

Abstract: The objective of this work is to carry out a proposal for intervention in the Simón Bolívar street cultural axis and Santo Domingo Square, within the area of first order of the city of Loja, promoting it as a Cultural city through strategies of appropriation of public space. Within the historic center of Loja, Simón Bolívar street is the connecting axis of the four main squares of the city, this being an area of daily use and during cultural activities or events, such as the annual festival of live arts, the which is representative in Loja. But, despite being a busy area, there is no optimal spatial integration due to the presence of physical and visual barriers. It is a space that has not been designed based on the requirements of pedestrians but giving priority to automotive mobility. An analytical and explanatory investigation of bibliographic documents will be carried out as a first step, in order to have an information base prior to the site analysis. After this analysis, the projection of the project will be carried out, proposing a design that solves this problem.
