Abstract: | Abstract: The study The use of Lyrics Training to help students improve their listening skills was carried out with the purpose of determining the influence that the Lyricstraining application has on the improvement of the students listening skills. This study was conducted using a mixed method approach because it contains a qualitative and quantitative data. Additionally, the instruments were a pre-test and a post-test to determine how Lyricstraining changed the listening skill, along with a final survey that would allow to collect the students perceptions. The participants of this research were ten students from different institutions who participated in eight classes that utilized the application as the main resource to learn English. Moreover, the information from the instruments and the data was tabulated and analyzed to answer the research questions. Furthermore, the resulst showed that the Lyricstraining was effective towards the students listening skills, it reinforced semantic understanding, and because music integrated listening along with the rest of the language skills. |
Description: | Resumen: El estudio El uso de Lyrics Training para ayudar a estudiantes a mejorar sus habilidades de escucha fue realizado con el propósito de determinar la influencia que la aplicación Lyrics Training tiene en la mejre the las habilidades de escucha de estudiantes. Este estudio fue realizado usando un enfoque de metodos mixtos porque contiene informacion cualitativa y cuantitativa. Adicionalmente, los instrumentos fueron un pre-test y un post-test para determinar como Lyricstraining cambio la habilidad de escucha, complemetadas con un cuestionario final que permitio recolectar las percepciones de los estudiantes. Los participantes de este estudio fueron diez estudiantes de distintas instituciones que participaron en ocho clases que usaron la aplicacion como el recurso principal para ense;ar ingles. Ademas, la informacion de los instrumentos fue tabulada y analizada para responder las interrogantes de la investigacion. Es mas, los resultados mostraron que Lyricstraining fue effectiva para las habilidades de escucha, reforzo el entendimiento semantico, e integro musica otras habilidades del lenguaje. |
