Niveles de autoestima en niños en situación de trabajo infantil en el cantón Catamayo

Abstract

Abstract: The main objective of this research study called levels of self-esteem of children in child labor situation of the ETI Catamayo Project, has as its main objective to characterize the levels of self-esteem in children from 8 to 10 years of the population under study, since self-esteem in boys and girls has been shown to be a dynamic phenomenon and influenced by the environment in which their upbringing is promoted, which has as a consequence in their personal development and their school experience. In this sense, the purpose of this work is to measure the levels of self-esteem of the population studied, the relationship of low self esteem and their gender characteristics, as well as factors linked to school, family and their relationship between peers. Through a quantitative perspective, it was possible to identify the different levels of self-esteem, through the Rosenberg psychological test to a population of 50 children of the Child Labour Eradication Project. It was found that the level of self-esteem is 48% of the total population, which represents a low level of self-esteem and in relation to gender there is evidence of a higher prevalence of low self-esteem in the female gender.
