Abstract

Abstract:The purpose of this work is to link the subject of the student's preference together with the importance of the Sustainable Development Goals. Work was carried out around the matter of Human Rights, to SDG 16 and its evolution in national development, through the study of one of the most relevant cases of forced disappearance in Ecuador, the Garzón sentence Guzmán et al. v Ecuador of the Inter-American Court of Human Rights, emphasizing the violation that existed to the rights protected by SDG 16 such as; the access to the justice and legal certainty. In the same way, several legal instruments stand out that support the protection of rights, noting how essential work is together with the Government and the different institutions to create regulations that provide an efficient and effective justice system. After studying the sentence, it has been possible reach conclusions where problems that existed and that persist within the country, affecting the fundamental human rights inherent to individuals, such as the access to justice.
