Abstract: For the development of this study, which aims to know the factors that come together in the Graduate of the Law School of the UTPL, to develop preferences for specific areas of legal science and their future specialization in these, It has been necessary to carry out a review of the literature in which they are contrasted in a specifically the Sustainable Development Goal SDG 16, which deals with peace, justice and solid institutions, the subject of criminal law and criminal procedure and human rights and constitutional law and a sentence issued by the Constitutional Court of Ecuador that has been chosen, from the analysis it has been possible to establish that although on the one hand the SDGs, pursue the protection of rights and achieve sustainable development in Ecuador, even there are certain deficiencies as evidenced in the present study, in which You can see that justice agencies still violate rights such as defense, guardianship judicial and legal certainty, in addition to the fact that public institutions present certain deficiencies that affect the transparency with which they act, thereby generating distrust in justice. It ends with a discussion part in which aspects and effects of how this type of decision affects and finally the conclusions and recommendations.
