Abstract

Abstract: The research project aims to analyze digital competence and its relationship with teaching innovation in the educational unit Matilde Hidalgo de Procel, for this purpose, a study was conducted on digital transformations within the educational system. The information was complemented with the application of three interviews to educators of this fiscal establishment. The study is designed under the interpretivist philosophy, a qualitative methodological route, which seeks to identify and describe the facts of the reality that has been investigated in a changing context, where education faces a number of challenges to meet, this research analyzes the digital skills and their relationship with innovation within a specific school of the Ecuadorian education system, for that reason, the research determines that the teachers interviewed in this establishment developed digital skills that they did not usually have in their face-to-face classes, however, by giving continuity to the teaching and learning processes virtually, teachers used different digital platforms and technological tools that allowed them to develop new skills, improving their digital competence and teaching innovation.
